SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT - SAN JOSE
Position
Responsibilities:
The Senior
Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing all cost accounting functions,
including manufacturing variance analysis, gross margin analysis, and inventory
reserves analysis. The Senior Cost Accountant will work closely with the
operations group in monitoring the activity of all inventory related balance
sheet and expense accounts.

Reconcile general ledger to perpetual inventory on a
monthly basis
- Prepare
journal entries related to cost of goods sold and inventories
- Perform
periodic reviews of standard costs for material, labor, overhead, and service
to ensure they are up to date and reflect manufacturing costs
- Examine
inventory and cost records to ensure related accounts are properly stated
according to GAAP and company policies
- Evaluate
inventory reserves in accordance with company reserves policy
- Perform
gross margin analysis by product line
- Coordinate
month-end close procedures with operations group
- Perform
overhead absorption analysis and prepare adjustments if necessary
- Consolidate
inventory related data from international and US subsidiaries
- Assist
in SOX compliance
- Assist
in quarterly and year-end financial statement reviews and audits
Position Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance or
equivalent number years of experience
- CPA
or MBA is a plus
Minimum
Experience:
- 6+
years of cost accounting experience
- Solid
understanding of GAAP
- Strong
Excel skills (intermediate to advanced level)
- Intermediate
level Word skills
- Medical
device industry experience preferred
- Experience
in using Expandable Software preferred
- Public
accounting experience is a plus
