Micrus is committed to supporting projects that improve care of patients and provide a true educational function to entities with academic affiliation in the medical and patient communities.

Grant Guidelines

Programs within the scope of the Micrus Grant process that will be considered for funding

Micrus will accept the following grant requests:

• Healthcare professional education (Priority will be given to accredited programs)
• Patient advocacy and charitable programs within Micrus’ field of interest.

Micrus focus will be on healthcare related activities, including patient education and advocacy in the following therapeutic areas:

• Interventional Neuroradiology 
• Neurosurgery 

Funding may be requested in the form of support for an educational program, fellowship grants, charitable contributions.

Criteria to determine funding

As general guidance for submission for grant requests, please note that Micrus considers many factors including:

• Improving care of patients
• Providing a true education function to an entity with an academic affiliation
• Ability to educate the broadest healthcare professional and/or consumer target audience at appropriate/reasonable cost.

May I request an unrestricted educational grant from Micrus?

Micrus does not provide unrestricted grants.  The purpose for the grant must be designated in a formal letter of request and that designated purpose is the only one for which the grant funds may be used.  Micrus will not have control over the content of programs.

Items generally outside the scope of Micrus grant process

• Grants that do not comply with applicable industry codes of conduct (e.g., AdvaMed, Eucomed, etc.)
• Capital campaigns/Building funds
• Website development not associated with an accredited educational program
• Entertainment (e.g., holiday parties, retirement dinners, etc.)
• Personal development (e.g., individual leadership training)

Grant Request Process

Micrus is aware of the growing need for support.  We have limited funds and regret that we can not accommodate every request.  The grant funding process is very competitive. Each grant is evaluated on its individual merit relative to other grant requests. 

Micrus will notify the requestor of the disposition of each grant request.

For a grant request to be considered for funding you must submit, at least 60 days in advance, the applicable form and supporting documentation (as specified in the appropriate form) via fax at the appropriate number as indicated in the contact section below.

Grant Status

• You may only check the status of your grant request by emailing the Micrus grant office at grants@micruscorp.com.  Your Micrus sales/marketing contact will not have access to this information.
• Micrus will notify you via email or fax of the final disposition of the grant request.  Please do not consider any request approved until you have received written confirmation of approval.
